Men’s Football: New football coach has history of winning
Posted on March 1, 2011 | No CommentsAfter a nationwide search, John Pate, a former associate head coach with Georgia Southern, has been named the head coach of the Hamline football program. Pate has an extensive history as a football coach at both the collegiate and high school levels. He served twice on the staff at Georgia Southern, fi rst from 1985-89 and then again from 1996-2005, helping the Eagles win five NCAA Division I-AA national championships. -

Posted on January 25, 2011 | No CommentsAfter four seasons at the helm of the Hamline football team, Head Coach Jim Good has been fired on the heels of a 1-9 season. The Pipers failed to win a conference game in the 2010 season, going 0-8 in the MIAC, which also happened in 2008 under Good. Bob Beeman, director of athletics, said a nationwide search for a new head coach is already underway. -

But the Pipers couldn't get anything going on offense as the Johnnies ran up the score and won easily, 49-0. -

Last Saturday, the Pipers were only able to score three points as they fell to Concordia-Moorhead on the road, 30-3. This was the first time this season the Piper offense was held to a single-digit point total.
