The first event of the season for Hamline’s swim and dive programs took place on campus at Bush Center Pool last Saturday. The program also had members compete in the St. Catherine Pentathlon. Senior Sila Yurttas finished second on the women’s side out of 45 competitors.
Neither side of the program officially scored as a team at the invite due to a majority of the rosters competing in events outside of diving.
For the St. Catherine Pentathlon the women’s program was able to place fourth at the meet with a total of 605.5 points. The men were able to find more success, finishing second on the weekend.
Although the meet kicked off the regular season, the Piper’s competed earlier in the month on Oct. 10 amongst themselves and former Piper’s at the Hamline Alumni meet.
Both programs will return to the Bush Center Pool for their third competition in the month of October this Saturday to host the Hamline Relay event.
