From nail biting victories to all-out beatdowns, the Pipers have seen it all through their first seven games, except for a loss.
With the halfway point just around the corner, there has yet to be a solution for the Piper juggernaut. The offense has outscored opponents 30–6 to this point of the season, making a presence not only against opponents but has been slowly moving into the national ranking conversation.
Notable victories from the season so far have included an 8–0 victory over Minnesota-Morris, beating Northland College 6-0 and coming from behind to beat Coe College 3–2.
This has been the best start for the Pipers in decades, they are just a win away already from matching last year’s total where they went 8–6–3. Three of the victories this season have come from home turf at Pat Patterson Field, a feat the team could not accomplish last season going 0–4–1 at home.
A crucial factor in this offensive surge has been from some of the program’s newcomers, with sophomore Ryder Tomlinson-Sterud and first year Ricky Kwaben-Yawson leading the program in scoring with five goals a piece. Right behind them is another first year in Cris Corrales in third with three goals in seven games.
Despite the undefeated start and wide margin of victory, the program has yet to receive any votes in the national poll. With two MIAC opponents in Augsburg and Saint Johns ahead the Piper’s will look to add to their resume and further solidify the hype coming from the young team.
Men’s Soccer starts of 7–0
