SOS holds symposium
Sexual Offense Services educates attendees
April 20, 2016
The sexual violence talk began with everyone gathered in the lobby of Sundin Hall. Refreshments were provided for those in attendance: survivors, their parents, Sexual Offense Services [SOS] representatives, the Ramsey County Attorney, and supportive citizens.
After a meet-and-greet style reception, attendees were ushered into the performance hall. The lights were dimmed as President Miller introduced the speakers for the night.
An SOS volunteer spoke about her 20 years of experience in the program and applauded how much the county has improved their sexual violence support system in that time.
The main event was the survivor’s panel, where one by one they shared their stories of healing from their experiences. The night ended with guest Guadalupe Lopez leading the crowd in raising their fists in solidarity with survivors everywhere.
