Speak Out: Do you think combining multiple majors under one department would impact the quality of the program?

Janie Schwartz, Junior: It would probably be a little bit confusing at first. Honestly it takes a couple years to sort out.

 

 

Sam Ziemann, Sophomore: I think that would be a bad thing. People who want to focus on certain things don’t get as much attention or support they would need. There’s potentially a pile up of other topics that aren’t focused on what they want to study here.

 

 

Raina Meyer, First-year: I feel like it could be cool because you could get a large breadth of knowledge under one major. It would probably make double majoring less common just because you’d be able to take a variety of classes under one umbrella.
