Hamline-Midway Coalition hosts first blood drive

Donors were provided with a red toy ball as a way to keep blood flowing through the arm. This proved to be especially useful for the arm blood was being drawn from.

In collaboration with the Red Cross and Hamline’s Delta Tau Sorority, Hamline-Midway Coalition (HMC) hosted their first blood drive last Thursday, Apr. 11.
Virtually anyone can donate blood, although there are certain factors that may prohibit one from donating, such as having a recent tattoo. Donors were provided with ample seating, fans, juice and a toy ball to squeeze as they were donating. To sweeten the pot, donors were offered a full-size package of Girl Scout cookies, among an array of other snack options.
